Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field and ten years of IT experience with at least three of those in IT management. Experience working with large complex systems, managing IT budgets, designing and implementing IT solutions, data and network security, and disaster recovery is required. A strong understanding of anti-virus, anti-spam, and anti-spyware systems is also required. Expertise in Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Office, SQL and Microsoft Exchange is a must. Experience using AutoCAD and MicroStation CAD software, Data Centric design technologies such as Civil 3D and Revit, and BST Enterprise is desired. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Provide day-to-day oversight and direction to IT operations ensuring systems are running reliable and users are trained and supported in an efficient manner
  • Manage the IT department
  • Perform long-range planning of IT goals and strategies aligned with business initiatives to maintain competitiveness. Recognize new development in information systems technology and anticipate organizational modifications.
  • Develop and implement an annual IT plan and budget collaborating with the market segments and corporate groups
  • Ensure confidentiality and reliability of corporate data, proprietary information and intellectual property
  • Develop, implement and enforce IT policies and procedures related to security, operations and disaster recovery
  • Lead the review and development of IT solutions and assist with project planning and implementation
  • Ensure IT needs of the organization are being met for market segments, offices, projects and users by meeting with managers and executives on a regular basis
  • Manage, organize and chair the IT Advisory Group and communicate action items and status back to board of directors
  • Oversee negotiation and administration of vendors, outsourcers, and consultant contracts and service agreements
  • Ensure the Help Desk / Service Desk is being utilized and managed properly for tracking problems, requests and changes to offer a high level of IT service
  • Develop and implement strategies for keeping IT equipment and software at the appropriate level of technology
  • Stay abreast of current technologies, work extended hours and travel when needed
  • Maintain a safe working environment
