Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in land surveying and zero to three years of related experience in land surveying projects. Excellent technical writing, organizational and communication skills will be essential. Candidates should be self-motivated and able to work well with others. Typical responsibilities include:
- Conduct various types of surveying including boundary, topographic, ALTA/ACSM, subdivisions, construction stakeouts, etc.
- Perform various survey calculations
- Interpret and verify the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations
- Assist with the preparation of all survey data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys
- Search legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain property information
- Assist with writing descriptions of surveys for use in deeds, leases, or other legal documents
- Assist with monitoring equipment and survey supplies
- Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
- Monitor task budget and progress
- Conduct on-site inspections as needed
- Prepare project status and other reports
- Assist in the preparation of proposals
- Assist Project Managers
- Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
- Attend seminars and/or training classes
- Maintain excellent client relations
- Maintain a safe working environment
