Candidates must have a minimum of two or more years of experience, a valid driver's license and be licensed by the State of Michigan under Public Act 407 in Plumbing, Electrical and/or Mechanical plan reviews and inspections. Specialized experience in a municipal environment is highly preferred. Typical responsibilities include:

• Enforce city building, property maintenance, rental and vacant property, zoning and business licensing ordinances
• Review plans and inspect sites for municipal, industrial and residential projects
• Interact with residents, property owners, and business owners to investigate complaints and ensure compliance with all city ordinances
• Issue citations as needed
• Write and submit reports for each inspection
• Participate in court hearings as needed
• Assist supervisor as needed
• Maintain excellent client relations
• Maintain a safe working environment
