Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering and have two to ten years of progressive experience with stormwater analysis, design and permitting. A PE license or ability to obtain one is required. Project management, client management, and AutoCAD, Civil 3D and HEC RAS water modeling is preferred. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work well with others. Typical responsibilities include:
- Evaluate and design stormwater projects, including open and enclosed drainage systems
- Design municipal civil projects that may include water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, local roads, utility infrastructure improvements, etc.
- Prepare and review design reports and construction plans using local and state standards
- Prepare/assist with technical specifications
- Coordinate pre-permitting and prepare regulatory permit submittals
- Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
- Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
- Monitor task budgets and progress
- Document design changes and communications
- Conduct on-site condition inspections as needed
- Prepare project status and other reports
- Assist in the preparation of proposals including development of scope, schedule and budget
- Attend client, public, project and staff meetings
- Maintain excellent client relations
- Maintain a safe working environment
