Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, fifteen or more years of experience in drinking water and a PE license. Experience using Microsoft Office and design software and excellent verbal and written communication skills is also required. Typical responsibilities include:
- Participate in business development activities including opportunity identification and proposal preparation
- Provide technical planning, design and construction support on various drinking water projects that may include distribution system, pump station, storage tanks, and treatment projects
- Lead teams of engineers and designers to provide deliverables like Bid Documents while meeting quality, budget and schedule commitments
- Prepare engineering calculations and supporting analysis of alternatives
- Prepare and evaluate drinking water alternatives
- Develop and complete applications, permits, engineering reports and specifications
- Prepare design and construction cost estimates
- Monitor task budget and progress
- Prepare project status and other reports
- Communicate project details with other design engineers
- Conduct project cost reviews
- Prepare and review scope, budget and schedule for project tasks
- Assist with proposals, marketing, project reports and technical presentations
- Attend and/or conduct client and project meetings
- Attend various meetings including pre-design, plan review, pre-construction, professional organization, staff, etc.
- Attend seminars and/or training classes
- Develop and maintain excellent client relations
- Maintain a safe working environment
