Candidates must have bachelor's degree in civil and/or construction engineering and a valid driver's license. MDOT experience is highly preferred. Individuals must be self-motivated and able to work well with others. A flexible, hybrid-remote work schedule available after 90 days of employment. Typical responsibilities include:
- Interpret project plans and specifications
- Conduct field inspections and maintain work item quantities
- Conduct field or laboratory material test
- Maintain project files and record drawings
- Prepare construction reports
- Perform soil erosion control and sediment control inspections
- Review technical data for adherence with project requirements
- Assist with preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
- Assist with/review scope, budget and schedule of new project tasks
- Monitor task budget and progress
- Prepare project status and other reports
- Assist in the preparation of proposals
- Assist Project Managers
- Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, preconstruction, etc
- Attend seminars and/or training classes
- Maintain excellent client relations
- Maintain a safe working environment
