Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least twenty years of experience in construction management of related projects. Experience in the areas of heavy civil construction and construction of municipal, large-scale water and/or wastewater projects involving pump stations, collection systems, transmission systems and treatment facilities is a must. Excellent technical writing, organization and communication skills are essential. Candidates must also have a Professional Engineer License. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work well with others. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule available after 90 days of employment. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Lead, manage, schedule and direct workload for construction field engineers and inspectors
  • Work closely with project managers and provide appropriate support
  • Work closely with design team and provide appropriate construction phase support
  • Assist with the preparation of large-scale construction contract documents
  • Take the lead role in full construction contract administration on behalf of the Owner
  • Prepare Notice of Award, Notice to Proceed and Bonds for execution
  • Interpret project plans and specifications
  • Evaluate for merit and when appropriate prepare contract change orders
  • Monitor contractor performance for adherence to project schedule and compliance with contract requirements
  • Review applications and prepare certificates for payment
  • Review contractor payrolls and verify prevailing wage rate requirements are met
  • Prepare certifications, substantial completion, final inspections and final completion documentation
  • Prepare letters and other correspondence to contractor, Owners and expedite resolution for various issues
  • Support and assist in the positioning for new work, intelligence gathering, identifying target pursuits and the preparation of proposals
  • Set-up and maintain project files and maintain preparedness for potential project audits
  • Prepare project status and other reports
  • Monitor task budgets and progress
  • Attend and facilitate client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
  • Attend seminars and/or training classes
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Maintain a safe working environment
