PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER

TAYLOR, MI


Position Description:


We are looking for a PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER to join our ICE DEPARTMENT to improve infrastructure in our TAYLOR office. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in civil and/or environmental engineering and ten to fifteen or more years of related experience. Excellent technical writing, organization and communication skills are essential. Field experience desired but not require. Desired experience with Civil3D and SSA. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work well with others. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule available after 90 days of employment. Typical responsibilities include:


  • Design various site development projects including commercial, institutional and residential plans and analysis
  • Experience with grading and earthwork, utility layout, pipe networks, profiling, site design and layout
  • Prepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standards
  • Coordinate preparation of specifications and permit submittals
  • Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
  • Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
  • Monitor task budget and progress
  • Document design changes and communications
  • Conduct on-site inspections as needed
  • Review field survey and utility records
  • Prepare project status and other reports
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals
  • Assist Project Managers
  • Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
  • Attend seminars and/or training classes
  • Good communication skills and working as part of a team
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Maintain a safe working environment


Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required


Skills/Experience:


  • 10 to 15 years of related experience required
