Position Description:

We are looking for a PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER to join our CONSTRUCTION DEPARTMENT to improve infrastructure in our NEW YORK office. Candidates must have bachelor's degree in civil engineering, at least ten to fifteen years of water/wastewater project experience, and a New York PE license. Experience with the New York Department of Environment and/or the Department of Design and Construction is preferred. Trench and safety training and OSHA 30 Hour training is a plus. Individuals must have strong communication skills, be self-motivated and able to work well with others. A valid driver's license is required. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Act as the on-site liaison with client and community
  • Conduct field inspections
  • Develop retroactive or forward-price scope of work changes and/or claims by multiple methodologies
  • Develop a detailed understanding of plans and specifications
  • Monitor construction operations
  • Lead or assist with Requests for Information responses
  • Lead or coordinate claims analysis with project team members and clients
  • Coordinate/communicate with contractors regarding construction project activity
  • Coordinate with Engineer of Record as needed
  • Record inspection daily reports
  • Assist with recurring client or regulatory reporting
  • Assist Project Manager with contract requirements
  • Review shop drawings, where appropriate
  • Help address field changes, as appropriate
  • Organize and maintain construction documentation with cloud-based document control interface
  • Identify and help mitigate potential project risks
  • Review and interpret construction CPM schedule
  • Act as senior resource for field inspectors and project colleagues
  • Attend or facilitate project progress, coordination or pre-installation meetings
  • Attend seminars and/or training courses
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Maintain a safe working environment


  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required


  • 10 to 15 years of related experience required
  • New York PE license required
  • Experience with the New York Department of Environment and/or the Department of Design and Construction is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
