ENTRY LEVEL ENGINEER

FLINT, MI


Position Description:


We are looking for a ENTRY LEVEL ENGINEER to join our ICE DEPARTMENT to improve infrastructure in our FLINT office. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering. Zero to six years of experience with natural gas projects. Excellent technical writing, organization and communication skills are essential. Candidates must have Field experience. EIT and AutoCAD/drafting experience preferred. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work well with others. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule available after 90 days of employment. Typical responsibilities include:


  • Design various natural gas projects
  • Prepare design and construction plans using local and state standards
  • Coordinate preparation of permit submittals
  • Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
  • Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
  • Monitor task budget and progress
  • Document design changes and communications
  • Administrative tasks
  • Conduct on-site inspections as needed
  • Assist in survey tasks
  • Develop field inventory of gas facilities
  • Prepare project status and other reports
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals
  • Assist Project Managers
  • Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
  • Attend seminars and/or training classes
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Maintain a safe working environment


Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required


Skills/Experience:


  • 0 to 6 years of related experience required
  • EIT and AutoCAD/Drafting experience preferred
