Position Description:

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Transportation department to improve infrastructure in our Flint office. The candidate must be a licensed PE with a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering and have at least ten years of related experience, including previous MDOT experience. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Deputy Project Management and oversight of roadway and transportation related projects and technical tasks
  • Complete traffic impact analyses, traffic safety analyses, and highway and intersection capacity analyses
  • Perform traffic signal layout and design, signing and pavement marking design, parking utilization studies, traffic signal timing and optimization
  • Assist with examination of school traffic operations and implementation of new plans
  • Write reports using local and state standards
  • Design of various transportation projects including roadways, bridge approaches, traffic control plans, etc
  • Attend and/or conduct client and project meetings
  • Attend seminars and/or training classes
  • Assist with proposals, marketing, project reports and technical presentations
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Maintain a safe working environment


  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required


  • 10 years of related experience required
  • Licensed Professional Engineer required
  • Previous MDOT experience required
  • Ability to oversee, mentor, and supervise junior engineering staff required
  • Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, GEOPAK design, Microstation CADD preferred
