Position Description:

We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join our Information Technology Team to improve infrastructure in our Taylor office. Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least five years of experience. A bachelor"s degree is preferred, but not required. Knowledge of Active Directory, Linux, Microsoft authentication protocols, firewalls, wireless access points, VPNs, endpoint security solutions, desktop operating systems, cybersecurity risk, compliance, governance management concepts, cybersecurity frameworks, and security technologies is required. Experience with Incident Response, common TTPs and familiarity with one or more common frameworks (NIST/ISO/GDPR/FEDRAMP/MITRE) is a must. Candidates must have an understanding of network services (TCP/IP, DNS, IPSec, SSH, etc) and previous use of an MDR/XDR platform. Candidates must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of monitoring security events and create prescribed remediation plans to mitigate threats as they occur.
  • Plan, implement, monitor, and upgrade security measures for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks.
  • Proactively discover new attacks, or attacks currently underway, and work with other Information Technology teams to contain and remediate the impact as quickly as possible.
  • Perform audits of security controls to ensure best practices and compliance efforts are being followed.
  • Design and manage phishing campaigns that include malicious attachments, credential harvesting, and other common phishing techniques used by modern threat actors.
  • Explore weakness and misconfigurations within the company systems by conducting threat hunts, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests.
  • Stay up to date on current security trends, events, exploits, and threats. Documenting knowledge and sharing with fellow IT employees to solidify the cybersecurity culture at Wade Trim.
  • Review and update security policies and procedures as needed to align with compliance efforts.
  • Design and implement DLP controls related to the protection of Wade Trim"s data.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.


  • High School Diploma
  • Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security or related is preferred


  • 5 years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Linux, and Microsoft authentication protocols.
  • Technical knowledge of firewalls, wireless access points, VPNs, endpoint security solutions and desktop operating systems.
  • Experience with Incident Response and common TTPs
  • Familiarity with one or more common frameworks (NIST/ISO/GDPR/FEDRAMP/MITRE)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity risk, compliance, and governance management concepts, cybersecurity frameworks, and security technologies.
  • Understanding of network services (TCP/IP, DNS, IPSec, SSH, etc)
  • Previous use of an MDR/XDR platform
  • Ability to learn new concepts, grow with technology, and become a Subject Matter Expert for Wade Trim.
