Civil/Environmental Engineer - Entry Level

Position Description:


We are looking for a Entry Level Civil/Environmental Engineer to join our Community Design Group to improve infrastructure in our Gaylord office. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in civil and/or environmental engineering, zero to three years of related experience and surveying and construction inspection field work background. Excellent technical writing, organization and communication skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work well with others. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule available after 90 days of employment. Typical responsibilities include:


  • Design civil projects that may include water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, roads, bridges, open drains, pedestrian pathways, parks, utility/miscellaneous infrastructure improvement designs, etc.
  • Perform evaluations, and prepare design reports including opinion of construction costs
  • Develop construction plans using local and state standards
  • Review and interpret plans and specifications
  • Prepare/assist with technical specifications and permit submittals
  • Assist Project Managers with review of scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
  • Self-monitor task budgets and progress
  • Document design changes and communications
  • Conduct on-site inspections and field evaluations as needed for design purposes
  • Prepare project status reports, technical memorandums and other written correspondence
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and scope of work
  • Assist Project Managers as needed
  • Attend client, public, project and staff meetings
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Maintain a safe working environment


Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required


Skills/Experience:
