Position Description:


We are looking for a CADD Manager to join our IT Team. This candidate can be assigned to any of our Wade Trim offices. The candidate must have a bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience in a professional environment or 15 or more years commensurate experience in lieu of degree requirement. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 90 days of employment. Typical responsibilities include:


  • Manage the curation, integration and development of C3D software.
  • Establish tools for CAD interdisciplinary and client specific integration.
  • Develop, update, and maintain a CAD library as part of Wade Trim"s Virtual Design Library.
  • Liaise with Wade Trim"s third-party software support company (IMAGINiT).
  • Support C3D research and development and innovative solutions to stay on the cusp of new technologies across the organization.
  • Propose and manage pilot initiatives for new C3D technology.
  • Incorporate and interface technology owned or used by Wade Trim within the C3D framework, including but not limited to Revit, GIS, Trimble Business Center, etc.
  • Ability to package and deliver Wade Trim"s CAD standards for use on projects by outside parties (e.g., clients, subconsultants, etc.) who would like to adopt/use our C3D standards.
  • Ability to integrate survey work provided by others. This may include anything from converting files to our standard and/or supplying tools that allow others to use our description key codes for actual survey pickup. This will require coordination with the Survey Department.
  • Liaise with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) both internally and externally to Wade Trim.
  • Serve as a technical resource to staff for specific CAD questions related to hardware and troubleshooting individual or interdisciplinary CAD related problems.
  • Oversee implementation of interdisciplinary standards and process improvements related to intelligent 3D design project delivery.
  • Assist with redevelopment of CAD standards, procedures, implementation, and enforcement of standards across the company by working with IT, Project Managers, Market Segment Leads and Market Segment Quality Leads.
  • Implement template changes and ensure new templates are communicated and pushed out to entire company (e.g., labels, parts, etc.).
  • Work with Design Technology Leads to ensure proper completion and delivery of end user training, workflows, standards, and support materials.
  • Providing on-going training to staff on CAD related changes/industry advancements.
  • Develop and deliver communications for industry/technology support which promote Wade Trim as technologically relevant.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.


Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree


Skills/Experience:


  • 10 years of experience in professional environment
  • 15 or more years commensurate experience in lieu of degree requirements
  • Ability to manage a corporate-wide C3D Design Technology program in multiple platforms and industry markets.
  • Experience in setting up, deploying, and enforcing municipal, state and custom CAD standards.
  • Knowledge and experience of Civil3D Design Components (Survey, Pipe Network, Pressure Pipe Network, Corridors, Site Grading).
  • Knowledge of related IT and how to integrate with design solutions/practices.
  • Understanding of construction industry, construction documentation/project deliverables, general business, and industry software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, Document Management Systems, etc.).
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and superior organizational skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be resourceful and apply critical thinking in an autonomous role, acting independently where appropriate and coordinating with IT.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate in a positive and meaningful way with all levels of staff.
